Your experience begins early in the morning with Executive Chef Pisut “Nong” Nahan, whose cuisine blends Thai culinary heritage with a modern, creative perspective. Born in nearby Phang Nga and shaped by years working alongside acclaimed international chefs—including three-Michelin-starred Spanish chef Eneko Atxa—Chef Nong has built a reputation for vibrant coastal Thai cooking rooted in fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Chef Nong will personally guide your visit to the lively Rawai Seafood Market, where local fishermen and vendors arrive with the morning’s catch. As you explore the bustling stalls together, you’ll learn how to select the best seafood, herbs, and produce while hearing the stories and traditions behind Phuket’s coastal cuisine. Back at Yon Ocean House, the cooking session unfolds in the restaurant’s serene, ocean-inspired surroundings. Under Chef Nong’s guidance, you’ll prepare two beloved Southern Thai specialties such as Mee Hoon Gang Pu, a fragrant crab curry with delicate vermicelli, and Pad Pak Miang Gong Sieb, stir-fried riang leaves with dried shrimp—learning how to layer aromatics, spices, and fresh ingredients to achieve the bold yet balanced flavors that define the region.
The experience concludes with a relaxed lunch on the terrace overlooking Ao Yon Bay, where you’ll enjoy the dishes you’ve prepared surrounded by sea breezes and panoramic coastal views—a memorable taste of Phuket’s culinary traditions brought to life by one of Thailand’s rising culinary talents.
